Frequently Asked Questions

Good questions deserve straight answers.

Pricing & Options

What's the difference between paying cash and leasing?+

Cash means you own the system outright on day one and keep every dollar of savings from then on — it includes your first year of Simply Solar service. A lease is $0 down with a fixed monthly payment for your term; we own the maintenance burden for the full term, including our production guarantee, daily monitoring, and annual inspections.

Is there really no down payment on a lease?+

Correct — $0 down. Your first payment isn't due until the system is installed, inspected, and producing power.

What happens at the end of my lease?+

Ownership transfers to you at the end of the term as provided in your agreement, along with all remaining manufacturer warranties. It's written into the agreement you sign on day one, so there's nothing to renegotiate later.

Will my proposal price change?+

Your proposal is an estimate built from satellite imagery and your actual utility bills. Final pricing is confirmed after the site visit — if anything changes, we walk you through exactly why before you sign anything.

Production & Savings

How do you estimate my production?+

We model your specific roof — tilt, direction, and layout — against decades of local weather data (the same NREL dataset used across the industry). Your proposal's monthly chart comes from that model, not a rule of thumb.

What is the production guarantee?+

On every lease, we put your system's expected annual output in writing. If it underproduces in any year — for any reason that isn't a utility outage or an act of God — we pay you the difference.

Will I still have an electric bill?+

Usually a small one. Most systems offset most, not all, of your usage, and your utility charges a fixed monthly service fee regardless. Your proposal shows the estimated before-and-after.

What happens on cloudy days or at night?+

You stay connected to the grid and draw power normally. With net metering, extra power you export on sunny days earns credit against the power you pull at night.

Equipment & Installation

What equipment do you install?+

JA Solar all-black n-type panels (25-year product / 30-year performance warranty) and Growatt MIN series inverters (10-year warranty) — premium equipment from Tier-1 manufacturers, chosen for Oklahoma weather.

Can my roof handle it? What about hail?+

The panels are tested to 5,400 Pa with dual heat-strengthened glass — engineered for hail country. Racking is engineered and permitted per code, and we confirm your roof's condition at the site visit before anything is installed.

How long does installation take?+

Most residential installs are done in 1–2 days on your roof. Start to finish — agreement, permits, install, inspection, utility approval — typically runs 4–8 weeks depending on your city and utility.

Will it damage my roof?+

No — attachments are flashed and sealed per manufacturer spec, and the mounting hardware carries its own warranty. A solar array typically extends the life of the shingles underneath it.

Can I add a battery later?+

Yes. The Growatt MIN inverter is battery-ready — storage and backup can be added later without replacing the inverter.

Service & Ownership

Who do I call if something breaks?+

Us. Not an overseas support line, not a manufacturer. We monitor your system daily, stock replacement equipment locally, and handle the entire warranty process for you.

What if I sell my house?+

Solar typically adds resale value. A cash-purchased system transfers with the home automatically. For leases, the buyer can assume the remaining term (most common), or the lease can be paid off at closing — we handle the paperwork either way.

Do I need to clean or maintain the panels?+

Rarely. Oklahoma rain does most of the work. On leases we inspect the system annually and send you a written condition report; monitoring flags anything unusual in between.

Is my system insured?+

Once installed, the system is typically covered under your homeowner's policy like any other home improvement — most insurers add it with little or no premium change. We provide the documentation your insurer needs.
